Jeffrey C. Hakanson graduated from Washington and Lee University in 1991, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. He attended the South Texas College of Law where he received his Juris Doctor in 1995. Prior to joining Gibbons, Smith, Cohn & Arnett, Mr. Hakanson practiced with a local real estate firm for three years and developed an expertise in representing secured lenders in mortgage foreclosure actions, lender liability actions and bankruptcy cases. Mr. Hakanson focuses primarily on real estate litigation and the representation of creditors in the bankruptcy court. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Middle, Northern and Southern Districts of Florida.
